|
ESOL is the leading provider of English language
qualifications in the UK, and has developed the new
assessments to meet the needs of employers, and to support
migrant and settled workers who are in work or intending to
work in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) - part
of the UK Government’s Skills for Life initiative, this
nationally accredited qualification is aimed at short and
long term visitors to the UK who wish to access further
education, vocational training or employment in the UK.
Candidates generally include refugees, asylum seekers
immigrants and visitors from the European Community. The
content of the qualification is based on the life skills
contexts of connections and relationships, time and money,
home and community, rights and responsibilities and personal
development. These themes are covered within the assessments
for reading, writing, speaking and listening. EDI awards
ESOL at Entry level, level 1 and level 2
